Corporate Chic: Inspired-Pink Pencil Skirt Remix

Hey Ladies,

So, one of the rewarding aspects of blogging for me is being inspired by others. With that being said, I took inspiration from Jeimy at Jeimy's Fashion Love Affair. She's so stylish and thrifts some great pieces! This was my look for today.

 I've received several comments/compliments regarding my hair and I am very appreciative. I've also been asked to do more hair-related posts....but my routine is pretty much the same right now, so there's not too much to post. This is third day hair, air dried, and using kinky curly products.

Thank God, us East Coasters survived Hurricane Irene and it wasn't as bad as expected! This is a quick look of what I wore to run some quick errands before the arrival of the highly anticipated storm...nothing fancy just comfy and casual! Hoping everyone has a Blessed and Safe Week!

Casual Weekend...

Hi Ladies,

Corporate Chic: And More Florals...

Hey Lovelies!

So, I think it's safe to say it's a known fact that I am a lover of Floral print.  I picked this floral dress up from H&M at the very beginning of Spring and somehow it made it's way to the back of my closet, which resulted in me completely forgetting I owned it. I was browsing the web and saw Camilla Alves in the dress and I said, "Hmm....didn't I purchase this dress sometime ago?" And sure enough I went digging and there it was buried in the back amongst blazers and some other odds and ends. A PURE SHAME..I know! Glad I remembered it because Fall is almost here and I would've had to wait until next spring to rock it. Anywho, here is my look! Hope you like!

Corporate Chic: Tied in Polka Dots

Hi Ladies!

So, I am saving so much money and truly enjoying thrifting! I have so many vacations and things coming up so my pockets are LOVING me right now! This navy and yellow polka dot, pussy bow blouse was purchased for $2.99....can't beat that at all!!! I purchased this navy blue pleated skirt in the beginning of spring and have worn it once, here. So, I decided to pair it with my new thrifted purchase.

 I had to spin in this skirt....

Home Edition: Office/Second Guest Bedroom

As you probably see from my blog post title this isn't my typical "fashion/style" post. I was very hesitant on posting any home decor photos....However, I am going out on a limb and putting myself and decor style out there.....Hope you guys like! XOXO

So, a couple of Saturday's ago I painted, my "soon to be" small office/second guest bedroom. I was so excited to finally get this project underway! I've been in my home for about a year and a half and things are still a work in progress. Let me just put the disclaimer out there that I am not a decorating expert but I do find decorating soothing for the soul. I am always switching and changing my decor because I get bored rather quickly.

Anywho, here are pictures of what the room looked like BEFORE. I had random items from my prior residence thrown in there. Keep in mind I'm not working with a lot of space.

Can you say, "BORING!!!!"

This is definitely not a reflection of my personality or style.....

Here is the space AFTER the paint job and a couple of other changes......I actually purchased fabric and made the striped pillow cover myself....sewing isn't my specialty! I haven't sewn anything since Home Economics in middle school...So, let's just say the pillow looks good from afar! lol...

Any ideas on what to place on the wall above the daybed? I am thinking either a nice sized mirror or possibly doing a photo gallery...any suggestions?! 

In my head, I was thinking the vintage/glam theme for this room. I love damask so I figured what better way to incorporate it in my space than through my bedding.  

My Office Space/Blogging Station :-) I purchased the frame from Ikea and purchased fabric and did a DIY inspiration board. Anywho, I just wanted to share my "new project on a dime"! I will be changing the door knobs and adding some wall decor above the daybed in the future.

I purchased this dress at the beginning of Spring but never wore it because it was a little too big. I finally made it to the tailor and here it is. When I saw this dress, I fell in love with the colors...pinks, purples, and reds..so girly. Anywho, after my last lengthy/long winded post..I will keep this one short and sweet :-)

Something about this look just puts me in the mind of Barbie...I don't know if it's the various shades of pink, or the shoes.....

Corporate Chic: Color Block Dress

Hey Ladies!

Well, at the beginning of the week, I typically post my Sunday message along with an outfit post....However, I didn't quite make it to church this Sunday. (Don't judge me yall') I don't have a good excuse either(not that any excuse is ever good enough to miss church) But in my defense, I did have my own little service at home; with me, my God and I. I cracked open my bible and studied, focused, prayed, and digested all that God had for me and it did my soul well. Intimacy with God is so important and I needed that time to just listen, talk and divulge in his word without distractions and at my own pace.

The text I studied was Colossians 3:5-10 and 12-15. What I got out of the text is, no one is a perfect person but, as Christians, we are held to a certain standard and we are socially responsible to uphold God's word and represent him in all facets of life. When you meet/interact with people, they should be able to see that something "different" in you. Your light should be shining and God should be at the center of  your thoughts and actions. Treating people with kindness and love is so important! Regardless, if they have wronged us or not. Forgive them and ask God to soften your heart towards them. I know it's not the easiest thing to do because we are human and the flesh is weak but with God, all things are possible!

Anywho, on to what I wore today. So, I woke up at 7:20 a.m. due to my alarm clock malfunctioning..ugghh, hate it when that happens! I am supposed to be out the house by 7:35 a.m. the latest! So, needless to say.....I needed something very quick and iron free to put on. Well, wishing everyone a great week and many blessings!!!

 Sorry guys...the "boo" called and interrupted my little photo shoot!

 Today was a good hair day....woo hoo!!!
